Drawn from the Tate’s collection in the United Kingdom, International Surrealism from Tate: Fifty Years of Dreams focuses on the long trajectory and broad international reach of surrealism as a state of mind through a captivating selection of paintings, photographs, sculptures, and other art objects, as well as publications and archival material.
Dr. Matthew Gale, exhibition curator; Michael J. Ewing, Frist Art Museum associate curator; and Caroline Yates, Susan H. Edwards Curatorial Fellow at the Frist Art Museum will come together for an engaging discussion of the exhibition, offering insights into its themes, works, and lasting influence.
Begin the evening with a classical music performance in the Grand Lobby from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m., featuring cellist Sari Reist, violist Mari Winget, and violinist Lisa Hoepfinger.
The museum will remain open until 9:00 p.m. to allow guests time to visit the galleries after the conversation.
